Former DA, Mathew Martinez has over 19 years of experience in criminal justice and has completed over 50 trials. He has achieved exceptional results in cases ranging from first time offenses to very serious felonies including firearms violations, strike cases, gang enhancements, armed robbery and 1st degree murder.
Prior to becoming a criminal defense attorney, Mr. Martinez was a prosecutor for 12 years. Mathew knows how the prosecution thinks and uses this inside knowledge to help our clients get the best possible outcomes in their cases.

Background & Achievements
Mathew grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended High School at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco. He graduated from college at Santa Clara University and afterward graduated from DePaul College of Law in Chicago. He is licensed to practice in both California and Illinois.
Mathew's extended family has lived in the Sacramento area since the 1920s.
He has a growing family of his own with three young daughters and two sons, Beatrice, Lydia, Andre, Ruth and Rafael. Mr. Martinez is a seasoned litigator who will fight to make sure clients are treated with fairness and dignity by our criminal justice system. He will leave no stone unturned in his efforts to defend his client's rights and make sure they are not mistreated by the District Attorney's Office.
